About this ebook

This is a Christmas Short Story for teens. Emily Morgan ran her families' Holiday Shop to help her mother. Her father was retired military and had come home with PTSD. However, Emily loved running the shop. It got her in the Christmas mood, and she knew her customers' names and habits. She also had a crush on Noah Ingram who worked for her family every holiday he was home from college. Noah was studying to be a doctor. The problem was Noah was interested in Emily's older sister, Cassie.

Cassie tended to indulge in wild college parties though and since her friend Mel was having a Christmas party, she wanted to go. Emily tried to persuade her not to go, but Cassie insisted all the college kids would be there. When she didn't come home Noah and Emily went after her. And they just got her out of there before the police came to shut them down. However, she left her purse and phone. Noah and Emily took Cassie home.

Emily's only ambition was to run the store for her family, and while Cassie and Noah were getting a first rate education, Emily felt her life passing her by. Would anyone recognize her hard work? Would Noah figure out how she felt about him?

Hi friendsI'd like to ask a favor, not just for me but for all writers. PLease when we offer a free book, it would be wonderful if you'd take the time to rate the book. This doesn't take much time out of your day and authors really apreciate your time to do this. I know not everyone wants to sit down and write a review, but rating the book will help as well. And a big thanks to all who do this. You never know how much an author appreciates you taking the time to do this.I finally finished The Car Stalker. Hope you'll check it out. This is the second book in the stalker series. Like I said mystery is much different from romance all though there are elements in romance in my stalker books too. Today I finished an another book in my series of Vets coming home, Better Every Day. This book takes the angle of when family interrupts your plans. When a one-night stand is much more. I love this story as it hits home. So two new books out now and more coming.I'm taking the time to write while confined at home. But lack of seeing people outside, and living alone all the time is not new to me. I've got lots of stories to tell so be on the lookout for my newest releases. You might check out my Searchin g for You Indian romance on Amazon too. There are several new free books for you enjoyment, since your stuck at home. Home you enjoy them.As for a bio, suffice it to say, I'm a Texan tried and true. I have grown children and grandchildren and already some great-grandchildren. I've done multi jobs in my lifetime giving me a variety of experiences to write and talk about. I've done many different kinds of work from Texas Instruments, to City of Garland, to working for the Wylie Independent School District. I've worked for a hat factory, filing insurance claims, secretarial work, to waitress work. My writing reflects my varied background. Another note I've had a in home day care for twenty years too. So when I write about something I have a general knowledge of it too, which is a real bonus for me. Just like my public work, my writing varies too from contemporary to historical, I write romance, thrillers, children's. A lot of people might say gee, that's a lot of different jobs, and it is, but, I've learned from them all, and I use that experience in my writing.I want to thank all the readers over a length of time that have tried some of my books. I hope I've enlightened and entertained you. I hope I've shared some love in this world. Sharing love can't be bad, it's God given.God bless.Other places to see my bookshttps://www.fantasticfiction.com/h/rita-hestand/https://itunes.apple.com/us/author/rita-hestand/id365799219?mt=11www.scriptsforschools.com/rita-hestandhttps://store.kobobooks.com/en-us/search?query=rita%20hestand&fcsearchfield=author

    Chapter One

It was a cold early December day in St. Louis when Noah Ingram walked into the store and inhaled quickly, the familiar smells of Christmas. It was like an aromatic welcome. He closed his eyes and envisioned Christmas unfolding around him. There was a smile on his lips.

Emily Morgan saw him and waved as she waited on a customer who was admiring the decorations and picked out some special bulbs to put on their trees. One man was carrying a tree Christmas tree from the outside patio where the real trees stood waiting for someone to buy. The patio had a covering, but it was freezing cold outside.

Noah walked up to Emily who was blowing her breath against her cold hands as she tried to warm up from working outside. He had a big smile on his face. Hi Kitten, I'm ready to go to work for the holidays now.

Emily rang the customer up then turned her attention to Noah. So you are off for the holidays again. She smiled up into his handsome face. For nothing would she tell him how glad she was to see him, that was her secret. You know we are glad to have you, of course. You are terrific at selling trees.

Thanks. Nice to be appreciated. He smiled. So how have you been? He stared into her face.

Emily slipped her coat off as she'd just sold another Christmas tree from the patio, and she'd just come inside to warm up. Just sold another tree. Looks like we're going to have a lot of business out there this year. I'm glad you are here, it's hard to run from there to here all day long. She exclaimed. I have to grab my coat every time I go out.

I know it got cold early this year. But, I was wondering how you have been. I haven't seen you in a while.

Emily blushed but turned away so Noah didn't see it. I'm the same as always, working.

I've missed you kitten. He smiled into her shining eyes.

    Oh I'll bet.

    His brows knitted.

No, I've missed you too, Noah?

She stopped and stared, Okay, I've missed you too.

That's better. Great, now, how can I help? He asked. Anything special you need doing? Put me to work you little slave driver. He teased.

She tried to ignore his innocent flirt, but it made ripples in her heart. He had no idea how she felt and it was a good thing.

She peered over her shoulder at the truck that was backed up to the side of the patio. Mr. Thompkins just delivered more trees, want to set them up for me on the patio? She asked. "We've
