A company can get good results, but how can it achieve excellent results? In the modern competitive environment, is good not actually an enemy of excellence, contrary to the belief that the best are enemies of the good? This seems to be the thesis of Jim Collins, a former Stanford professor, in his book Good to Great, published in 2001.
For five years, the author and his research team tried to uncover the mechanisms for conversion to extraordinary performance. To do this, they selected 11 companies rated as excellent and chosen for their results that are well above others in the market, and compared them to their competitors. The result raises many questions: far from relying on vivid strategies led by charismatic leaders with a strong sense of communication, moving to excellence is done gradually, with tact, and driven by discrete leaders with unrivalled determination.
By forging a unique and refreshing vision of excellence, we are able to debunk the clichés. However, more than simply building a new design excellence, Collins and his colleagues were able to isolate the criteria that will enable you to
