Introduction
Maybe something happened to you or upset your life and you're still trying to shake it. Maybe you feel stuck and are struggling to find the road forward. Or you want to discover your purpose. Maybe your life has been ripped out from underneath you. Or you're in a bad situation. You might be willing to be honest with yourself about it, you might not. Maybe you're drinking, partying or even eating to escape yourself, your feelings, and your life.
If any of these situations sound eerily familiar, it's okay. You're not alone and, lucky for you, you're not the first person to experience devastation. Those who have gone before you have been kind enough to shine a light. They've also left trail markers, highlighting possible ways out, back to joy. Back to the light.
I will warn you, though; it's not an easy path—especially if you've been abused, experienced injustice or are successfully lying to yourself to protect your current comfort zone.
A note on that last one: If there's a situation or a relationship in your life that is causing you consistent devastation (I don't say constant because in many abusive relationships, it's all too easy to forget the horrific moments when things are good, yet those moments keep happening), you're going to continue experiencing the same problems over and over until you finally face the situation for what it is, gather your courage, and change it.
It may seem a little tough-love and I know how scary it is to upheave your life, but you are so much more capable than you give yourself credit for. Still, until you're ready to admit your root problems, the ones all your other worries stem from, you'll never fix anything real.
