About this ebook
Before we begin, I would like to express my thanks to all of you beautiful readers who are kind enough to check out my humble book. My goal with this book is to relay information to you about the skills that are needed in order to increase your chance of achieving success in your life. You should know the reason I decide to use the word ‘skills” in the title of this book and not ‘traits’ or ‘attributes’. I do this because these qualities can be learned and incorporated in our lives. It’s not a talent which you are born with. It only requires your unshakable resolve to make it part of your habits as you go through your life.
In order to do this, you first need to understand what success really is. How can someone be labelled as successful? Is there any threshold that you need to surpass to become successful? Finding the answer to these questions is very important. Ironically, it also happens to be the most difficult thing to do. This is due to the fact that the meaning behind success is vary from person to person. I will prove this to you by providing you with a few examples:
“Success is finding and fully live your purpose in life, and to leave an enduring legacy of having made a difference in the world”
Ron Cordes founder of Corder Foundation
“Success is not having to describe what’s been accomplished...others do it for you”
Deborah Hopkins innovation officer at Citibank
“Success is living my true purpose on inspiring others to act and think in a way that they never considered before”
Raj Sisodia professor at Babson College
This is a few perspectives in what success is. Of course, none of them either right or wrong because you are entitled to you own version of success. Many of us think that being wealthy and becoming a millionaire or ever a billionaire is considered as success. Others might see success as spending a quality time with people they love. What does success mean to me you ask? I see success as freedom. Meaning I can freely live my life the way I want to without other people’s influence. I’m not there yet, but I’m certain that I am in the right path to achieve it. Finding your meaning of success is crucial because it will give a purpose to your life. Believe me when I say that life without purpose is worse than dying. So, think hard and the sooner you know what success is to you the better because you can start pursuing it right away.
That’s where this book come into play. You will be provided information about the skills you need to master in order to be succeed in your quest. You don’t have to master all of those skills, just select a few that will benefit you the most. After all, different circumstances require different skills to overcome it. Think of it like playing ‘World of Warcraft’ where you need different set of skills in order to complete certain quests. When you see it that way, it sounds like fun doesn’t it? If you think so too, then don’t hesitate to get this cheap yet value-packed book. I’m certain you will not be disappointed.
PS: I intend to improve this book in due time to improve its quality and the value it can bring to all of you. To do that, I appreciate any review you can provide me. whether good or bad review, I welcome it all. No heart feelings. So please consider leaving a review of this book. Thank you.

Skill 1: Goal Oriented
In this mission of pursuing success, the first step you should take is setting goals for yourself. Why is goal very important? Goal will give you a sense of purpose and this will drive you forward when you are facing a hard time. If you ask anyone who you consider successful, you will find that all of them are goal oriented. They know what they want. They have it written down and look at it every single day to reaffirm their resolve. They also come up with numerous detailed strategies in order to accomplish all their goals. There are two types of goal, short term goal and long-term goal. You need to have both of them. it is better to have a specific goal because It allow you to identify what exactly you want to achieve. There are a few criteria that can help you setting your short term and long-term goals.
Criteria 1: Your short and long-term goal must be related.
By ensuring your short term and long-term goal are connected, it will make accomplishing your short-term goal more meaningful and bring you closer towards your long-term goal. For example, if your long-term goal is to write a fiction novel by the end of the year, your short-term goal could be writing two pages every single day. You can see that both of these goals are connected. By writing two pages a day, it can bring you closer towards finishing your fiction novel by the end of the year.
Criteria 2: Your goal must be realistic.
It is essential for you to set a realistic short term and long-term goal. The problem most people have is setting too big of a goal in a short time frame. You need to avoid this because it could cause you unneeded stress and it also able to hurt your self-esteem if you fail to achieve it. Therefore, evaluate your capabilities and set your goals accordingly. Let’s say you set a goal to read three books a month. But you need two weeks to finish one book. This means your goal is unrealistic because you don’t have the ability to realize it. Therefore, take your time and think carefully before you set your goals. Make sure that it is within your grasp.
Criteria 3: Have a clear strategy
Your goal setting will not be considered complete without a solid strategy to accomplish it. Therefore, you need to really think about how you are going to approach your goal by evaluating the resources in your possession and utilizing them to
