Introduction
What’s a Wordslinger?
A few years back I was working as a copywriter full time. To differentiate myself, and to establish a brand, I started referring to myself as The Wordslinger.
The name stuck. People dug it, and even if they didn’t know precisely what I did for a living, they could catch on quick.
When I started my podcast in 2014, I wanted a name that would be memorable, and that had some attitude. The Wordslinger Podcast
was a natural fit. And in the years since that first episode went live, with its bluesy guitar theme song and its pure attitude intro, several thousand listeners have come to love and respect the brand.
I’m a full-time novelist, with a few side hustles. One of the things I love, more than almost anything else in my career, is helping other would-be authors build and grow their writing careers. That’s what being a Wordslinger is all about.
This book is part of a growing library of Wordslinger insight. After talking to thousands of authors, interviewing hundreds of people for my podcast, attending and speaking at conferences and events all over the planet, I’ve picked up a few things that every author should know. I’m
