About this ebook

They were called Death Riders -- cowboys and shifter mustangs.

Landon and Cody thought they were prepared for anything, but not for the red-haired bombshell that happened to be their stepsister and mate. There was something about her, and what they saw raised the supernatural powers inside of them. Death would not claim their mate, even if over 200 bloodsuckers were hunting for her and her mother.

Haven was a schoolteacher, but her quiet world had been turned upside down when she saw her father murdered, leaving her and her mother to escape into the night. Haven never expected her mother to find another mate or that her stepfather would be the father of two of the hottest men she had ever seen. I mean, who could turn down two men in tight jeans who could also sing like country stars, and had a great talent with rope?

The trio come together to end the threat against her life, but were surprised by another entity that destroyed the enemy and then claimed to be their fourth.

Haven knew her world was about to get scary and interesting, but wondered if the four of them could come together to form a family unit? Not only did she have her doubts, but so did her stepbrothers who watched this newest member of their family.

    Chapter One

Haven Sidney took a sip of her whiskey and coke, watching the people around her. The Wild One was packed tonight, and the riding bull had a line

She had decided to give her mom and new stepfather a few hours alone, since they had just tied the knot with a Justice of the Peace in their living room. After the few guests had left, she hugged her mom, Paris, and her new husband Flint Stang, informing them she’d be back late, and that it was time for her to explore her new town’s nightlife

Now dressed in her favorite light blue jeans and black boots, Haven sat at the small table waiting for the band to start. At the age of 25, she loved to listen to live music and dance, but it had been a long time since she had felt it was safe enough to do so. Even before she had stepped out of the house, her mother had grabbed her tight and hugged her.

"Be careful, Haven. We might be hundred of miles away, but you never know who’s out there," her mother had whispered to her.

"Mom, I’ll be fine, but I think you should tell your husband what’s going on so he’ll know if someone comes snooping around," Haven said before Flint showed up out of nowhere. Haven did have to admit that for an older man, Flint was a hot one. He was tall, with dark hair that was cut to shoulder length, and Haven swore he had grayish blue eyes that seemed to penetrate right through you if he turned his attention on you.

"Don’t worry Haven. Your mother told me everything before we were married. But we will be having a long talk about her timing, that’s for sure. I know you want to go out, so I suggest The Wild One. You’ll be safe there and it has a live band. Your mom informed me you love to dance, and from what I’ve heard the band is pretty good." He leaned down and kissed her cheek.

"And I want you to come home anytime you want. Don’t think you have to stay out late to please us. Plus, we won’t be here," Flint said, earning a squeal from her mom.

"What? I thought we agreed to do nothing big?" Paris frowned at her husband.

"Did you really believe we wouldn’t have a honeymoon? I have a jet waiting. We will only be gone for three days. But, if you need us for anything, the number is already programed into your phone, along with my sons Cody’s and Landon’s. numbers. They don’t live here but have their own place about ten miles away and can be here fast if you sense anything wrong." he had told her, knowing that she and her mother were blood suckers.

Haven snorted and took another sip of her drink. The whisky wouldn’t make her drunk, but it would get her blood warm and give her enough courage to dance when the music started since she was in a new place and town, Catalina, Arizona.

So far nothing felt off. Two years, eight months, three weeks and two days ago their lives had been shattered. Her father had been murdered right in front of her eyes and now the Reynolds family was searching for Paris and her.

It had taken half of their money, and the confidence of the few people they had trusted, to slip away from Torrance, California without a trace. They now had new names and appearances, and she hated that she’d had to cut her long blond hair and dye it red. But, Haven did have to admit the auburn color was nice, just too bad her hair wasn’t long. Instead it was shoulder length, styled almost as a page boy.

Not only that but the one job she had loved, working with handicapped children, was gone. Haven couldn’t use her license, knowing they’d find her in a second. Her mother had no problem finding a different job, since had never worked, but Haven had cried on her last day. Even right now tears threated to come thinking about little Billy, the one boy who was finally making progress with her help.

Sensing someone staring at her, Haven lifted her head and scanned around the room till her eyes fell on the band that had emerged from the back. Her heart stopped, palms got sweaty, and Haven swore she could smell the outside, fresh wind blowing around her.

Holly fuck-berries, she was staring at her mate…mates? She moaned. Inside, her other stirred, rising. Both, she purred. Not only were the two men almost identical, but Haven swore they were carbon copies of her stepfather, Flint, and from the look in their gaze they’d just realized what she was too. "Well fuck-berries," she mumbled, and gulped down her drink, staring at them. They had their father’s eyes, and she could see Flint in the way they held themselves and the thickness of their hair, not to mention their size. She peeked at each of them as they worked at setting up the equipment on stage.

She was so going to bite her new stepfather. He’d set her up, but was this a bad thing? Getting up, Haven made her way to the bar and ordered another drink. She was about to turn around when one of the cowboys
