Say It Now: Thank You to a Teacher: A Teacher's Journal
()
About this ebook
Teachers who are emotionally, cognitively, physically, and spiritually healthy can more effectively support learners. If you as a teacher care about children, you must care about your own health. This journal begins by saying Thank You for your commitment to learning, and for recognizing the needs of every student. It continues with a 30 day self-care program designed just for teachers. It will provide you with an opportunity to reflect on each days successes and opportunities for improvement, engage in self-care activities, reinforce your worth through affirmations to empower self, and more. By setting aside a few moments each day, you will strengthen your ability to help others.
Schools are a microcosm of society. As violence, drugs, and neglect occur in our neighborhoods they are expressed through the behaviors of our children in the classroom. Teachers are expected to successfully address issues that society itself has not been able to resolve, while at the same time creating a setting in which all students can learn. Teaching students in todays schools requires you to be at your best. Please give yourself the gift of personal time so you can have the fulfillment you deserve and be the best teacher you can be.

INTRODUCTION
This is a book expressing appreciation and giving thanks to teachers. Why teachers? Because the contributions of an effective teacher benefit all of us.
If you are an effective teacher this book is meant for you. You are important. You can facilitate the development of healthy children who eventually become caring adults, and by doing so can help to create a better world.
Before a nurse, carpenter, accountant, minister, or architect, there must have been someone like you. So it makes sense to conclude that you are a valuable part of any community.
As one who has chosen to do this work you belong to a profession that impacts every child. Other than parenting, there are few professions that have as many opportunities as your own to develop tomorrow’s adults. Your influence is not only directly expressed by each child, but eventually by the children of those students. It is a ripple effect that continues for generations and ultimately shapes society.
For this reason, you must be healthy. When you are emotionally
