    About the Author

This book is dedicated to the risen Lord, Jesus Christ. He deserves all the glory and honor. It couldn’t have happened without him, for he granted me the privilege to think up this idea and convey it to others. He has helped me through the long and arduous adventure of writing this story. But most important, by his willing sacrifice, he paid my debt. By his wounds, I have been healed. All glory goes to him!

    Acknowledgments

I acknowledge first and foremost the God who created me, loved me, and made my salvation possible through his Son’s death and resurrection. He alone deserves my heart, my love, and my all. My sinful nature and fleshly desires hinder me from glorifying and serving him as I should. And because of that, I am immensely thankful for the mercy, grace, and love he daily pours out on me. The second chances he gives, along with his forgiveness, are mind-boggling. I can’t really comprehend it. All I can do is accept it with open hands and run life’s race for him.

I also acknowledge several people who have been willing to read this short story and support me along the way.

Rex and Deb Clark (Dad and Mom): For being my parents. I am so grateful for the time and love they put into raising and training me to be a man of God. Admittedly, I think I took their love, care, support, and godly teaching for granted. I am beginning to realize how much I owe them, how much they, along with God’s grace, shaped me to be the man I am today. I especially thank my dad for supporting me on the path to publishing this work. Concerning the step of faith in publishing this story, he said, Go for it. I will be forever grateful for my dad and mom. The relationship I have with them is very special. God richly blessed me when he decided they would be my parents.

Nathan and Liz Clark (brother and sister-in-law): For being such a huge support through life’s difficulties. I want to especially thank Nathan for being a brother who looks out
