The Underestimated Arts of AfriAsia
focuses on minds from various countries in Africa and Asia; countries that are in possession of magnificent and extraordinary works extracted from minds that need to be recognized for their unique work. From Supermodels to designers and then all the way to the history of Cultural Couture, The Underestimated Arts brings culture to the young and adult reader and permits the bookworm to understand the other side of Fashion.
The definition of Fashion is quite infinite as we continue to explore the various minds and cultures that alter the world of Haute Couture; but whilst we endure the investigation of imitation, Fashion then seems to consist of an area that inevitably lingers on the mind of an individual; an area that is known of but is yet to be (well) understood: culture. It’s a a concept that allows one to feel and see the beauty within various textiles from various continents, and acknowledge the exquisiteness of the minds behind Cultural Haute Couture.
The main objective behind The Underestimated Arts is: to lead the World into a more understanding and appreciative expanse in regards to Cultural Fashion, and where we can all appreciate the beautiful truth (of Fashion) without having to blend reality with something that can instantly (and negatively) transform it into tomorrow’s imitation of yesteryear’s concept. This is what makes The Underestimated Arts different as opposed to the other (already published) books. There may be competition (because it oozes Mode) but then how many Fashion books, out there, really focus on the true and deep history of Fashion, and on the past beauty of Cultural Couture that still exists today? Well, not many.
The Underestimated Arts is about the importance of (understanding) Cultural Arts without having to shun or disrespect other cultures, and without having to feel inferior to others around you. Fashion is beautiful, so why must we continue to, gradually, diminish it with our (defacing) ideas of what might have been
as opposed to what used to be?
Whilst covering information on upcoming and well-known people within the Fashion World, and also discovering the old and new beauty of Fashion, The Underestimated Arts is bound to receive readers who will appreciate Cultural Haute Couture, and understand that it should hold a higher place than offered, seeing that Cultural Arts is what makes Fashion irresistibly transformational—as opposed to something that just lingers
in the shadow of something less unique; something like imitated works of great minds.
The Underestimated Arts of AfriAsia is written by Sabrina Eiya Makein, who believes that African and Asian Fashion is yet to be fully acknowledged (and appreciated) for the exquisiteness that it continues to prevail to this day. She’s also the founder of Eiya Foundation, currently Princess Eiya Foundation (Prinses Eiya Stichting): an organization for sustainable development
