Introduction
––––––––
Welcome to ‘The Guided Meditation for Anxiety.’ This Meditation will take you on a guided journey of Self-Hypnosis designed to relieve you of the negative by-products of stress and anxiety. When we are exposed to a stressful experience, our bodies respond with the 'fight or flight’ adrenaline response. Hormones such as adrenaline are released. We physically experience the symptoms required for action like an increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, rapid and shallow breathing, and the rush of blood to our muscles. Over time, these symptoms can result in overwhelming fatigue, brain fog, high blood pressure, loss of sleep, lack of appetite, and even panic attacks.
With meditation, we can induce the opposite reaction to this response by significantly lowering our blood pressure, pulse and breathing rates while inducing a state of deep relaxation. You will slow down the responses accelerated by adrenaline and enjoy a level of satisfyingly deep relaxation. From this place of deep repose, you will enjoy a state of clarity from which you can observe your responses to stress and anxiety it creates within. You will learn how to acknowledge these reactions without judgment, observing them for what they are. It is only through a non-judgmental acknowledgment of our responses that we can create a new approach to how anxiety manipulates our ability to live a fully engaged life.
With practice, we can employ the techniques learned in this meditation whenever we encounter a stressful trigger in our day. Utilizing these techniques will lead to an overall improvement in our physical health and allow us to maintain a positive approach to situations, other people, and most importantly, ourselves.
Chapter 1: Making Yourself Comfortable

Hello, my name is – and I am here to be your guide through today's meditation. Together, we will create a safe space for you to relax, recognize, and heal the physical and spiritual traumas created by anxiety. Remember, at any time throughout this meditation you require additional time to reflect on the process taking place, please take a pause of the book and re-start it when you are ready to continue.
To begin, I invite you to find a warm space, somewhere you feel totally at home, a space where your body can relax in comfort and privacy. The space around you should be free of clutter and audible distractions. Communicate with anyone you might be sharing the space with to allow you a time without interruption. Turn off your phone, dim the lights to a comfortable twilight setting, allow fresh
