    How is diet related to health?

    Today, food is a controversial topic that is on everyone's lips. The spectacular advances that the food and nutrition sciences have experienced in recent decades reveal the importance of proper nutrition as one of the best ways to promote health and physical and emotional well-being

    The discovery of nutrients and the functions they perform within our body has allowed us to fully understand many of the properties of food that until relatively few years ago were sensed or were part of popular wisdom.

    Scientific advances introduce us in depth to the world of food and the relationship that eating habits maintain with health. Each study, each investigation, reaffirms us that the idea that the most appropriate diet is one that takes into account all the conditions that characterize us as educated people in a certain culture, with specific eating habits, tastes, health status, customs and ideals, physical activity and different lifestyles.

    Therefore, there is no ideal diet that is suitable for everyone, but there is a universal criterion regarding the type of food that should be consumed in the daily diet, which on the one hand guarantees that the energy and nutritional needs of all the people that make up a healthy population, and on the other hand, collaborates in the prevention of certain disorders and diseases related to nutritional imbalances.
