We have recently celebrated Independence Day. Loudly and colorfully, as usual. But this nation is not independent.

It does not stand on its own. It is part of numerous ruler/ruled relationships. This nation takes the part of ruler. It leans on other nations, around the world. As examples, consider: All of the following actions have been undertaken by America, or with strong/crucial American support--

Chile--In 1973 the democratically elected and popular government of Salvadore Allende was wiped out and replaced with a cruel dictatorship. Iran--In 1954, the democratically elected and popular government of Mossadeq was overthrown and replaced with a cruel dictatorship. Haiti--in 2004, Aristide was kidnapped by U.S. marines, while serving as the democratically elected and very popular President. Vietnam--1950s through 1970s, the U.S. doggedly tried to usurp the Vietnamese government. The Phillipines and Cuba--in 1898, these countries were invaded and subjugated.

Cambodia, Laos, Iraq, Libya,--bombed to hell. Pakistan, Somalia, Yemen--these countries are being bombed by American robots. Robots that are so smart they sometimes blow up wedding parties, meetings of elders/leaders, and God knows who else. Indonesia. Congo. Greece. Guatemala. Dominican Republic. Nicaragua. Brazil. El Salvador--these countries, and many more, have suffered extreme U.S. interferance in their government. In short, the idea that The United States of America is independent is only 1/2 right-no one is lording it over us. ********** Americans do not want to realize this. They

resist it. They deny it. They bathe in ignore--ance. ********** Happy Independence Day. I wish.
