This software release solves problems with the FTB-7000 Series OTDR. Note: Service packs are designed so as to include fixed problems of previous rel eases. You can always refer to the Release Notes of the FTB-200 Compact Modular Platfor m for information that will help you use HISM and install the applications. The Release Notes is included in the Service Pack you will download from MyEXFO. Installing the application from a kit that you download differs slightly from up grading the application from a CD. ******************************************************************** - Installation procedure 1. Ensure that HISM and the USB drivers are installed on your computer. If you d o not have them, you can either download them (from the Tools section) or install them wi th the CD that came with your product. 2. From MyEXFO, click the desired upgrade kit item. When you are prompted, save the file to a location of your choice (on your computer). 3. Double-click the .exe file you have just downloaded. From WinZip Self-Extractor, select the folder in which you want to extract the upgrade files, then click Unzip. 4. Run the Setup.exe file you have just extracted. 5. From your computer, open the HISM.

5a. On the taskbar, click Start, point to All Programs, then point to EX FO. 5b. From the EXFO menu, click EXFO Handheld Instrument Software Manager. 6. Connect your unit to your computer using the USB cable. 7. Turn on your unit.
