The City of Howell is pleased to learn that Thai Summit Ogihara announced that they will locate their new $35,000,000 business expansion on their corporate campus in the City of Howell. Howell Mayor Phillip Campbell stated: "This is wonderful news for our community. It was great working with Ogihara Thai Summit to make this project happen and we are all proud that Howell's largest industrial employer has decided to expand right here in the City. Hopefully this expansion will serve as a beacon for the City of Howell as the place to be for business development." The expansion will result in the retention of Thai Summits 300 plus jobs as well as create 78 new jobs. Ogihara Thai Summit cited the Citys business friendly approach along with the cooperation and support of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation as major reasons for selecting the Howell site.
