Solar Ambassador Application and Agreement

Welcome to Madison Countys Community Solar Program, Solarize Madison. By completing this Application, you have an opportunity to participate in and facilitate the success of Solarize Madison. As a condition of participation in the Solarize Madison program, the system owner becomes a Solar Ambassador and agrees to enter into and abide by the terms of this Application and Agreement. Submitting twelve (12) months of utility bills/consumption and system size and cost to the Solarize Madison teams project managers at time of NYSERDA application. Participant authorizes their contracting installer to supply this documentation to the Solarize Madison teams project managers. 2. Supplying system energy information for two (2) years. For participants who have monitoring equipment installed, access to online data will be provided to the Solarize Madison teams project managers. For participants who do not have monitoring equipment installed, the data can be obtained from the energy meter and provided in writing every six months during the two year period to the Madison County Planning Department. Data submitted will be shared with partnering agencies, sponsors and team members of the Solarize Madison program for the purpose of research and development of programs, educational opportunities and for promotional purposes. Data may be shared publicly, including but not limited to, websites and community kiosks.

3. The most important part of becoming a Solar Ambassador is your testimonial and your active support of the Solarize Madison program. As a Solar Ambassador, you agree to provide the Solarize Madison team with the following testimonials: A one- to two-page testimonial describing: 1) why you decided to participate in the Solarize Madison program, 2) the installation process, 3) the first month of operation, and 4) your experience working with the Solarize Madison team. This testimonial is due six weeks after installation. A one- to two-page testimonial describing: 1) the energy output and cost savings of your system, 2) how much of your overall household electricity the system produces, 3) the operation, maintenance, and productivity of the system during the winter months compared to summer months, and 4) your overall satisfaction with your solar PV array. This testimonial is due each year on the anniversary of your installation for the first two years. Additionally, as an active supporter of the Solarize Madison program, you are expected to further share your story through media interviews/appearances, presentations at discussion forums/ workshops, neighborhood canvassing events, conferences, community solar tours, solar open houses or other opportunities provided by the Solarize Madison team and its partnering agencies. The Solarize Madison team will work with you to find mutually convenient times and events that suit your interest while ensuring that your participation does not become overly burdensome. Finally, as a pioneer of solar energy in Madison County, we also encourage you to take the initiative to find unique opportunities to promote solar energy and the Solarize Madison program. 4. Documenting our success and capturing the installations through the Solarize Madison program is a valuable tool to share with the community how solar is installed. You agree to allow your solar system installation to be filmed or photographed by the Solarize Madison team or those hired to act on behalf of the team, including newspaper, radio and TV media outlets. 5. In order for the Solarize Madison team to gauge the success of Solarize Madison and its value to the community, a survey will be issued at the close of Solarize Madison (October 31st) to be completed within 10 days of receipt.
