Between 2001 and 2005 the percentage of people who agreed they felt able to influence
decisions affecting their local area fell from 44 per cent to 39 per cent.
The percentage of people who agreed they felt able to influence decisions affecting
London fell from 31 per cent to 25 per cent, and the percentage of people who agreed
they felt able to influence decisions affecting Great Britain fell from 25 per cent to 22 per
cent.
