Media Center Notes October, 2012

In September: K 5th grade classes attended media center orientation. Destiny system was updated with new student information. Student library cards were printed and distributed. The AR program was started. Media Specialist facilitated at faculty, leadership team, and PYP meetings and presented ppt slide show at PTO monthly meeting. All school computers were updated with Google Chrome. Total Circulations were 3,920.

Ongoing: As of October 1, 19 teachers are scheduled for regular, weekly time in the computer lab. There are still some openings for class computer lab use. Please see the sign-up sheet outside the computer lab for available times. Teachers may reserve the media center tables, reading well, or computer stations. A sign-up sheet is located on the circulation desk. A binder is located in the work (lamination) room for faculty and staff to request technology maintenance and support.

Upcoming: New books should arrive soon. These will be processed and added to our collection as soon as possible. Scholastic Book Fair will be at LFH October 29 November 2. Since we only receive $5400 per year from the state for all books and supplies, this is a VITAL fundraiser for our media center! Please make plans to attend, bring your students, and encourage parents to visit. Flyers will be sent home the week of October 22.
