cadence with ball; offensive linemen go on snap count, defensive lin emen go on ball movement. At the snap, players explode out of their stance in a Superman dive, landing on their bellies. Eyes snap up, players get in bear crawl position with feet chopping (eyes on the ball). Coach points ball right or left , directing players to butt-roll in the direction of the ball. Stress to players to roll on the meat of the butt and not on their back: drop their roll-side kne e and hip (not the shoulder) and throw the backside elbow into the spin; this wi ll result in a quicker spin. After 3-5 butt-rolls the coach can call the players to get up and sprint through , call for a forward roll then sprint through, or call for a forward roll then r ecover a fumble that the coach drops. The coach should stress overall hustle thr oughout the warm-up, emphasizing the importance of explosion, quickness, and kee ping the feet moving.
