As a 2012 graduate of Nevada State College, with a B.A. in Elementary Education, I have student teaching experience in both the second grade and kindergarten level. During my time student teaching at Gordon McCaw Elementary School, I served on the RTI and 60th anniversary committees. I was in an inclusion classroom and observed several IEPs. My love for teaching started when I was 16 years old; I became a lifeguard and a Water Safety Instructor for the City of Henderson. This opportunity allowed me to teach young children, ages 6 months-13 years, how to swim. It taught me to be patient, nurturing, and dedicated. I currently possess a CCSD Nevada Substitute Teaching license, and this has also given me valuable classroom experience. Substitute teaching has helped me to better prepare myself in classroom management, organization, and has helped me maintain a strong work ethic. I studied in the Teacher Preparation Program at Nevada State College, and I completed over 50 hours of observation field experience to learn as much as possible about becoming a teacher. It is my goal to work with students of all ages and learning styles and to be a positive addition to your school district.
