covert groups within the empire, since if they were ever discovered, the other clans surely would demand satisfa ction in blood of the Scorpion Clan. It is that way because the Battle Analyst's specialty is that of learning their enemies technique, shut them down and using it against them. And not too rarely, codify those techniques and train some of the Scorpion Samurai on them. Requirements: => Rings/Traits: Fire 5, Perception 4 => Skills: Battle 6, Investigation 4 => Advantages: Precise Memory Techniques: Rank 1: See the Patterns Your first step as a Battle Analyst is to understand your enemies techniques and find ways around them. In the reaction stage of a skirmish or in the assesment phase of an Iaijutsu duel, you can make an Inteligence/Battle roll with a TN of 5+(5x your enemie school rank). If more than one opponent is fighting you, you m ust do only one roll using the enemie of highest school rank to set the TN. If y ou suceed, you gain +1k0 in all tests against enemies of this particular school for every rank you have in Bayushi Battle Analyst, including attacks but not dam age. You also get an Armor TN bonus equal to your ranks in the Battle Skill. The se bonuses ramain until the end of the skirmish. Rank 2: Close the Gate Now that you know your enemies techiques and found their flaws, you can really s hut them down. If you succesfully activated the first rank of the Battle Analyst against an enemie, you can spend a Void point as a free action. Every enemie th at you analise with See the Patterns during the current skirmish or iaijutsu due l must spend a Void Point to activate any technique, kata or advantage against y ou. If the technique, kata or advantage normally require Void Point expenditure to work, it now costs twice the original number of points. This technique works until the end of the skirmish. Rank 3: End the Flood As a Master Battle Analyst you can now become imune to the most deadly tactics. Your already saw them all. All enemies affected by Close the Gate can not reroll 10's in attack and damage rolls and can't spend Void Points on enhancements aga inst you.
