Our leaning engagements for this unit will include a workshop with Ark Eden foundation, pet day, caring for plants and maintaining a worm farm, watching documentaries, carrying out our own research through books and pictures. Through these activities we will inquire into the exciting world of plants and animals and talk about our responsibilities towards them. Please let us know if you have child-appropriate resources such as videos, books, or photographs to share with us. If you have personal experiences that you feel might help us with our inquiry, we would also love to hear your story. We are also interested in getting to know your pets and to hear about how you care for them.
MATHS Students will continue to develop number awareness, and begin to inquire into patterning and data handling.
Numbers- Teen Numbers, Explore bigger numbers up to 50 and beyond Estimation Patterns in their immediate environment and the natural environment Symmetry Data Handling- looking at sets of objects and how these can be organized by different attributes
LITERACY Students will continue to engage in various literacy activities which will give them opportunities to practice reading, writing, and oral language skills.
