She was the one that usually sleeps in that room, like Darcangelo told Christina from the start. The lady heard a rumor about Christina sleeping with her husband, so she went in to confirm it. This shows that even after Christina left Valle del Sole to get away from her problems, they still followed her. Christina was very confused about the false accusations being made against her. Maybe Christina really is curse like the villagers had been saying. She is the only that people always have a problem with. This just shows that rumors of her being a slut and other negative force against her will always follow her. In chapter 28, Christina had made herself comfortable on the boat and began to live differently. She made new friends, like Antonio. Antonio showed her much care and attention. He treated her with respected and was also concerned about her children. He got along great with both Christina and Vittorio. The only thing about Christina that annoyed him was that she took everything as a joke and he was afraid that she was taking her pregnancy as a joke as well. This made Christina upset but the next day she got over it and was laughing with Antonio again. She and Antonio seem like they like each other. She also made friends with a couple that were across their room on their honeymoon. They often asked of her baby that was yet to be born. They showed how much they were concerned and how much they cared about her. Maybe this a new beginning for Christina already.
