    OBJECTIVES OF THE PROBLEM BASED LEARNING The report is a comprehensive study of harmonic phenomenon within the scope provided

    by achieving objectives as follows: 1. 2. 3. 4. To investigate the harmonic phenomenon and its possible sources. To take sample quantitative measurement of harmonic parameters. To identify the relation of varying load with the level of harmonic. To explore the available options of harmonic mitigation.

    The possible sources of harmonic phenomenon were listed down, and after that the harmonic phenomenon is investigated in the lab using instruments such as Power Quality Analyzer FLUKE 435. During the lab experiment, the suspected harmonic-producing equipment was inspected of their harmonic content and harmonic distortion. The measurement of harmonic parameter began by capturing the harmonic waveforms and recording the harmonic distortion in terms of Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) in percentage. Here, the behavior of harmonic phenomenon was observed when varying load was applied. Then, the improvement of the harmonic distortion was discussed by using mitigation options available.
