FLUOR — NORTHEAST REGIONAL OFFICE

One growth area for the Northeast

office in 2009 will be the development of
a multi-projects group (MPG) that will
specialize in the execution of small- and
medium-sized projects. These projects
are usually in the $1 million to $20 mil-
lion range. The MPG organization will
enable the office to better support clients
in their requirements to execute work
that is cost-driven.
The Fluor Northeast regional office
recently completed a number of proj-
ects that either increased production
and safety or improved emissions for
local refinery clients.

unit was laser-mapped to provide views
of the unit and to serve as a basis for a
3-D CAD model of the new work. The
project was “workshared” between three
Fluor offices: Northeast regional; Long
Beach, Calif.; and New Delhi, India.

Strong Network
A networking database program called
Knowledge Online (KOL) allows Fluor
employees around the globe to commu-
nicate with ease.
“One of the things that Fluor brings to
the table is the ability to network between
a small office like ours and a large office
like Houston [with 4,000 employees],”
Alley says. “If we have an engineer [any-
where] in the world that has a question,
