Mason Director of Personnel Salem School District Salem, Ma 01904 Dear Mr. Mason, Please consider me an applicant for the position of Mathematics teacher at Salem High School. As a 2014 graduate of Salem State, I was extensively trained and prepared for countless classroom situations and settings by my schools knowledgeable faculty. In fact, it feels like I have been learning how to be a teacher for a very long time, and Im more than ready to begin teaching this year. Since I completed most of my student teaching and pre-practicum observations at Salem High, I feel I have an understanding of the goals that the faculty and administration are trying to reach and the methods they use to reach them. It is my sense that I have developed a positive rapport with the faculty as well as the students of this school. I should mention that the many hours I have spent within the walls of Salem High have felt less like a job and more like a challenge. I understand that the student body at Salem High School is made up of a wide variety of social and ethnic backgrounds, and I am more than prepared to learn to adjust my teaching style to accommodate the academic needs of each and every student. One of the reasons Im interested in a position at your high school is because it has a diverse population of students. Where some teachers would be overwhelmed to have a classroom filled with ELL students, I look forward to it. I myself was an English learner when I came to the United States, and Im fully aware of the difficulties of being a student in a foreign country. Thankfully, I was lucky enough to have a handful of teachers who looked past my language difficulties and were able to effectively motivate me to excel in my academics. Im eager to finally step into a classroom as a teacher and pass on my knowledge and experience to the students of Salem High. Thank you for taking the time to review my application, and I look forward to setting up a meeting with you at your convenience. Sincerely, Armen Gevorgyan
