The Future Of Learning Is Informal And Mobile: A Video
Interview With Teemu Arina

Here an interview with Teemu Arina is presented. He is a programmer, teacher, consultant,

networker, mentor, entrepreneur, self-directed learner and artist. He is a parter. and CEO at
Dicole, a company focusing on understanding the role of social technologies in knowledge
work and networked learning in organizations. The interviewer is Robin Good, who focuses
his questions on informal learning and mobile learning. Teemu sees informal learning as no
teacher driven learning, however he believes this kind of learning asks for sites where people
meet other people with similar interests, these sites, he means, are not school building, these
are sites on the web

He also defines what mobile learning is,

this having to do with technological
devices used by students to
communicate with others in order to
learn. Being distant places or far
schools not an obstacle for learning. I
believe this interview can be very
profitable for those interested in
learning or teaching by means of
technological devices.

The complete interview can be seen at:

MY OPINION.

When I first stated this course I did not really know what I was going to
encounter.
What I found is that I have been working, teaching with limited resources. I
have learnt to do things I never imagined I could do.
On top of that with the interview of Teemu, I can see that distance learning
has grown a lot.
It is something that we can find not only in my country, but also in many
more places around the world, at least is what this interview makes me
believe.

The interview covers other ways of learning , not at school, but wherever
you are, by means of a computer. However, a computer is not the only tool
to help students to learn; it is also all the tools available on the net, wikis,
blogs, websites etc are excellent and efective ways of learning and
teaching. If we are not up dated with all what is found on the web we are
not using all the potential of modern teaching.
