Head of Architecture appointed at Leeds Met

Leeds Metropolitan University has appointed Dr Teresa Stoppani as the new Head of Architecture.

Dr Stoppani will join the School of Art, Architecture and Design on 1 February 2013 from the University of Brighton where she has held the title of Reader since 2001.

Professor Mohammad Dastbaz, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Environment and Technology at Leeds Met, commented: I am delighted that Dr Stoppani is joining us. She brings with her an impressive range of expertise and experience and I am sure will be able to make a major contribution to the development of Architecture here at Leeds Met.

Dr Stoppani studied Architecture at the Institute of Architecture of the University of Venice (IUAV) and received a PhD in Architectural and Urban Design from the University of Florence. She has collaborated as design consultant with architectural practices in New York, Venice, London and Munich.

She has taught architectural design and theory at the IUAV and at the Architectural Association in London and, from 2001 to 2011, she directed the MA in Architecture programme, and co-ordinated the Architecture Theory courses, at the School of Architecture and Construction of the University of Greenwich.
