ABSTRACT This research was carried out to look into the influence of home background on the career choice of secondary school students in Ovia north east local government area of Edo state. I am attempting to deal with the influence of home background on the career choice of secondary school students in Ovia north east local government area of Edo state. Different questions were asked. The study was carried out mainly with the use of questionnaire. A good number of literature were reviewed, the data collected were analyzed and interpreted. It was observed that the home that the student comes from has some influence on his choice of career. This influence was seen to be either positive or negative.

SCOPE OF THE STUDY This study is restricted to secondary schools in Ovia north east Local Government Area of Edo State in the realization of similar condition facing most students in other secondary schools in Edo State.
