I love that before Joseph even finished his thought to divorce Mary before their marriage was completed God sent a messenger (angel) to reassure him of Marys faithfulness so that he could proceed with the marriage. I love Jesus Name. The amplified explains its meaning as this: Savior; He will save His people from their sins that is He will prevent their failing and missing the true end and scope of life, which is God. God doesnt desire and never intended to leave us in our failure. He is faithful to rescue us and provide us with new beginnings as many as it takes in order for us to be with Him. There is truly NO GREATER LOVE THAN HIS. John the Baptist was purposed to prepare the people for Jesus. Johns message was this: Repent that is, think differently; change your mind, regretting your sins and changing your conduct for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. This is how we get ready for Jesus. Today, the Holy Spirit helps us to do what we cannot do for ourselves. The Holy Spirit helps us to change our mind and change our conduct. We can try with every effort we have, but the reality is, our determination alone is NOT enough. We need Gods Spirit to change our mind/heart so that our behavior (conduct) changes. We are that weak. Matthew 3:8 shows us that when our heart changes, our life changes and there will be results (evidence) of this change. Changing our minds for the better, changing our ways whole heartedly proves our abhorrence of the past sins (failures) and allows Jesus to come in have His way completely. Jesus picked it up after John the Baptist was placed in prison and later beheaded, Jesus sent His disciples out with this message and this is the message He gave them just before He ascended into Heaven. This message is still very valid today. Changing our mind for the better, altering/modifying/rephrasing improving/removing & correcting faults/changing our ways for the better with our whole hearts, completely abhorring our past sins, coming after Jesus, letting Him guide and make us able to draw in more people to Him so that they can experience new life as well. There is NO disease, NO weakness, and NO infirmity that Jesus cannot heal completely.
