Taufik to take on Chong Wei in charity fundraiser for Japan

PETALING JAYA: Former Olympic champion Taufik Hidayat of Indonesia has confirmed that he will play an exhibition match against two-time All-England champion Lee Chong Wei at the Juara Stadium in Bukit Kiara on April 3. The match is the highlight of a charity fundraiser initiated by the world No. 1 Malaysian to help raise funds for the victims of the recent earthquake and subsequent tsunami that laid waste to Japans north-eastern coast on March 11.

February inflation up on higher cost of food, transport and utilities

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's inflation level accelerated by 2.9% in February year-on-year fuelled by higher cost of food, transport and utilities. Rating Agency Malaysia Holdings Bhd group chief economist Dr Yeah Kim Leng said the latest inflation level reflected an accelerated pace over the past two months. Nevertheless, if this accelerated trend continued, Yeah said, it would post a concern especially for the lower-income group where the Government was expected to provide assistance.

Beyonce's father will no longer manage her career

NEW YORK (AP) - Beyonce will no longer be managed by her father, Mathew Knowles, her publicist said Monday. In the statement, Beyonce stressed her devotion to her father on a personal level. However, the publicist didn't comment on who Beyonce's new manager would be.
