Vocabulary
Divisor- The number by which the dividend is being divided. Factors- Numbers that are multiplied together. Compatible Numbers- Numbers that are easy to manipulate mentally. Fractions- Numbers that represent part of a whole or part of a set. Reciprocal- Number or expression resulting from dividing 1 by a given number or expression except 0. Line Graph- A graph used to show how a set of data changes over a period of time. Statistics- The practice or science of collecting and analyzing numerical data in large quantities. A measurement of data that indicates where the middle of the information lies. There are three common measures of central tendency including the mean, the median, and the mode. Frequency table- A frequency table is a table that lists items and uses tally marks to record and show the number of times they occur.

Line Plot- A line plot shows data on a number line with x or other marks to show frequency. Equivalent Fractions- Fractions that name the same number. Ratio- The quantitative relation between two amounts showing the number of times one value contains or is contained within the other. Rate- A measure, quantity, or frequency, typically one measured against some other quantity or measure.

Unit Rate- Unit Rate is the ratio of two measurements in which the second term is 1.

Ratio Table- A table that represents the relationships between different ratios. Equivalent Ratios- Ratios that have the same value.

Rational Number- An integer or a fraction. Percent- One part in every hundred.

Least Common Denominator (LCD) - The least common multiple of the denominators

of a set of fractions.
