POWER PLANT MANAGES DC POWER REQUIREMENTS OF EQPTs AT THE SITE. IT PROVIDES FAIL SAFE -48 V DC SUPPLY FOR ALL EQPTs. SUB UNITS OF POWER PLANTS ARE :

BATTERY BANK PSU ALARM PANEL MCB FRAME BUS BAR FUSE

o o

POWER PLANT IS CONNECTED TO 48 V BATTERY BANK AS WELL AS 230 V AC POWER SUPPLY FROM ACDB. WHEN AC MAINS IS AVAILABLE, POWER SUPPLY UNIT CONVERTS IT TO 48 V DC. +48 V FROM PSU IS TERMINATED TO COMMON BUS BAR WHICH IS FURTHER CONNECTED TO IGB FOR GROUNDING. 48 V SUPPLY IS CONNECTED TO FUSE TERMINAL WHICH IS ALSO CONNECTED TO ve O/P TERMINAL OF BATTERY BANK. WHEN AC IS AVAILABLE, PSU PROVIDES DC SUPPLY TO EQPT AS WELL AS TO BATTERY BANK FOR CHARGING.
6 February 2013 TECH VIDHYA 3

o o o

WHEN AC MAINS FAILS OR GOES UNDER/OVER VOLTAGE, BATTERY BANK SUPPLIES 48 V DC TO ALL EQPTs. -ve TERMINAL OF BATTERY BANK IS TERMINATED ON FUSE AND FURTHER CONNECTED TO A FRAME OF MCBs. +ve TERMINAL OF BATTERY BANK IS TERMINATED ON BUS BAR WHICH IS FURTHER CONNECTED TO IGB FOR GROUNGDING. BATTERY SUPPLY IS ALWAYS USED FOR POWER BACKUP. BATTER OR CELL IS THE ONLY SOURCE OF PURE DC VOLTAGE. O/P OF THE RECTIFIRE , PSU OR SMPS IS NEAR TO PURE VOLTAGE.
