Modern Antique Pop Culture Bohemian Dada

Modernism is of present or recent times. It is contemporary and up-to-date. Modern styles are futuristic , normally containing state of the art equipment. Modern structures are usually large, spaced out and brightly lit. Modern architecture includes simplicity and clarity of forms and the removal of unnecessary detail. Modern buildings exude purity and simple form.

Antique styles are favoured by former times. It is out-dated. Antique styles are desirable because of their rarity, personal emotional connection, usefulness and condition. They normally represent previous time periods in human society.

At various points in history, Pop culture has been everything from common culture, Folk culture and Mass Culture. Pop culture is associated with commercial culture based on popular taste including all its trappings such as the television, the radio, art, photography, games, movies and other forms of advertising.

Bohemian styles are unconventional and very artistic. Bohemia is a region of the Czech Republic where the nomadic group of people called Gypsies or Bohemians lived. Colours used in Bohemian structures are usually browns and copper colours, golds and oranges, whites and dull purples and pinks and reds. A lot of jewels are used to decorate.

Dada was a movement that mocked the established conventions of the art world and rebelled against all artistic tradition. It is unconventional and unusual and didnt conform to socially accepted customs of behaviour or style.

Other Cinemas

Other Cinemas include:

Drive-in cinemas

Modern Cinemas

OldFashioned Cinemas

4-Dimensional Cinemas

Some cinemas are their own building.

While others are built inside another building. For example the cinema in Sandton City, Johannesburg, South Africa.

I would like my structure to be old fashioned, yet simple and spread out.

My structure will have a classic cinema marquee at the front.

It will have a ticket booth at the entrance before going inside.

Posters of actors and upcoming, famous, or now showing films will skirt the walls. There will be a candy and popcorn bar.

A standard movie theater screen is around 700 centimeters high and 1600 centimeters wide.

An average theatre normally has 80 seats, 9 rows with 9 seats plus an open space for handicapp seating. An additional metre or two for an aisle down the side for access to the rows.

This is the basic style I would like to use for my structure. However, I would add a large and brightly lit entrance and more seats inside the movie house with stairs leading to each row of seats.

I would use dark yet warm colours such as red and purple especially inside the movie house because bright colours would be a distraction from the film. When entering my structure, it will be lit with bright colours. Colourful posters will be seen along the walls of my cinema so that they stand out. Candy colours will be used by the candy counters.

Colours

Most of the shapes used in my structure will include cubes and cylinders and rectangular prisms. Cylinders will be used when creating columns and pillars. Cubes will be used for the actual movie house and smaller cubes and rectangular prisms will be used for bathrooms and candy bars and stairs. A large rectangle will be needed to make the cinema screen.

Shapes and Sizes

I will need closely placed seats for inside the movie house.

Furniture

Tables and chairs and couches will be needed for people waiting for a movie. Counters and shelves will be needed at the ticket booth and at the candy bars. Bathroom facilities are needed.

The End!
