A cardinal number indicates quantity; for example, how many objects are included in a set, such as one, two or three. Ordinal numbers represent the order of things and define rank and position, such as first, second or third

with interrogative direct speech Why dont you speak English? reported speech He asked me why I didnt speak English. without interrogative Type Do you speak English?

When transforming questions, check whether you have to change: pronouns present tense verbs (3rd person singular) place and time expressions tenses (backshift) Also note that you have to: transform the question into an indirect question use the interrogative or if / whether 2/15/13
