Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter;

The film begins with a quote from the bible creating drama for the audience as it is a 1800s Christian film. A voiceover is used in order to display the effect as though it is being narrated and helps to build tension for the first scene. The ragged clothes of the children in the first scene suggests a high amount of poverty and the child being beaten in the background places emphasis on the slavery that is still going on whilst the dim, almost rustic, lighting suggests that it is rather run down and makes it more eerie. A narrowed Point of View shot is used from Lincoln when he was a childs perspective, which creates empathy and horror as he watches his mother get bitten by a vampire. Shortly afterwards when he is spotted by the vampire a Close Shot on the vampires face helps to create an intimidation factor and the audience sees him as a frightening character. When the vampire meeting begins the dark costumes that all of them are wearing allows the audience to identify them as

being shady characters and being represented as evil.
