Host - Age 83 years old - Sex Male - Behavior Cigarrete Smoker 2. Agent - Chemical Nicotine 3. Environment - Living conditions - Economic level C. Ecologic Model (wheel, web, triangle)

D. Analysis The agent-host environment model is primarily use in predicting illness rather than promoting wellness, although identification of risk factors that result from the interactions of agent, host, and environment are helpful in promoting and maintaining health. Because of the agent-host environment, factors constantly interacts with others, health is an ever changing state. Health is seen when all three elements are in balance while illness is seen when one, two or all three elements are not in balance. (Fundamentals of Nursing by Kozier 2004) E. Conclusions We therefore conclude that our client is suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease probably due to his lifestyle before. Other risk factors may also involve age and the way of living. F. Recommendations Given the increase of in the incidence rate of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. It is very important for us to learn the basic concept of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and how can it be prevented. I recommend that If we alter lifestyle bahaviors, then we can reduce or eradicated the prevalence of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
