Lesson-1 ARGUS-Installation: Option-Concept 1/2

l

Running ARGUS-SW requires (unique) Hardlock and associated Option-Files Up to version 5.2: parallel Hardlock is delivered since version 5.2: USB-Hardlock is delivered Multiple parallel Hardlocks can be plugged in a row on on the PC (e.g. ARGUS-HL, MapView-HL and AllAudio-HL) Only 1 USB-Hardlock can be plugged on the PC; plugging more than 1 USB-Hardlocks to the PC results that only one of them will be recognized (random which of them) Starting with MapView-version and AllAudio-version Only one Hardlock for all applications together is needed

Lesson-1 ARGUS-Installation: Option-Concept 2/2

l

Inside the Option-file there is coded: - the associated Hardlock-nr. - the number, how often a device-driver can be loaded (default 2) There are about 25 different ARGUS-options, categorized to device-drivers groups, measurement-modes, interfaces and extensions Options are needed on measurement-unit as well as on controlunit. As a rule of thumb: - basic-option is required everywhere - device-driver-options are required, where devices are (i.e. on the measurement unit) - measurement-mode and interfaces are required, where the respective action is initiated see also document: Configuration and Licensing ARGUS

Time interval at which the PC-time is updated by GPS (starting at 00:15) Disk Usage: Maximum of hard disk-usage for file-saving Saving interval: time-interval in which measurement-results are written to harddisk Start Delay: Time-Delay for starting ARGUS SMS: Inside AMM, SMS can be send

Lesson-2 ARGUS-Configuration:

Measurement Unit Configuration (General) 3/4: Simulator

Simulator: for signal simulation when device is in virtual mode. Not needed for real operation

Lesson-2 ARGUS-Configuration:

Measurement Unit Configuration (General) 4/4: Alarm Settings

Only for SW-option AMM !
Save in AMM Log File: All Warnings, Alarms, Activity and Error messages of the AMM are written into the AMM Log File. Buffer Time: Messages which are older than the buffer time are overwritten in the AMM Log File Forward Messages / Station: All Warnings, Alarms, Activity and Error messages are forwarded to the Control Unit. Delay Time : The messages are transferred with a certain delay time so that messages can be gathered. This prevents having to initiate the complete transfer procedure for each message. Summarize Messages: Only active for Save in AMM Log File. The messages are summarized over the selected Delay Time to a single line message.

Lesson-2 ARGUS-Configuration:
Transducer and Corrections 1/3
For Absolute Measurements the following Objects have to be taken in account :

Transducer Factor of the selected Antenna Correction Factor No. of Connectors DC-Feeder, Filters, Attenuators, Lightning Protectors and cables types before the Switching Matrix No. of Connectors cables and Filters after the Switching Matrix
