March 4-8, 2013

What were learning
Our Bible stories for this week are The Widows Offering, The Parable of the Wicked Farmer, and The Parable of the Wedding Feast. We will be reading A Real Gift and Arthurs Reading Race in our basal reading books. We are focusing on the long e sound. Math will include counting by 100s, sums of 10, and estimating length. We are starting a unit on Kickball for P.E. For social studies we are creating street and city maps.

Here are some ways to challenge your child: Christ Light Make a comic book about the story of the Widows Offering Reading Research and learn some sign language.

Important Notes

Our field trip to the Discovery Museum is this Thursday, March 7th! Please have your child wear his/her yellow shirt, bring a sack lunch, and a large snack. Watch for an email with further details. Lenten services are this Wednesday again at 5 and 7 p.m. with a soup supper at 5:30. Our next field trip is on April 10th to see Rumpelstiltskin at Sunnyvale Community Center Theatre. Please return the form and payment by March 19th. This week is Open house week; invite your friends to come see our school!
