Colbert, Ron. "Teacher Candidate Fashion, Tattoos, And Piercings: Finding Balance And Common Sense." Childhood Education 84.3 (2008): 158-C. ERIC. Web. 19 Mar. 2013.

In this article it talks about how todays youth is beginning to get more body piercings and tattoos. It also discusses how teacher education has begun to see more candidates that have tattoos and piercings and how they prefer to see candidates that are more professional looking. I could use this article in my research because this kind of gives me the information about how the employers feel about tattoos and piercings.

Enel Few; 912-652-0325;, jenel.few@savannahnow.com. "TATTOOS, TEACHERS DON'T MIX, BOARD SAYS\; PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM UPDATES TEACHER DRESS CODE." Savannah Morning News (GA) 11 Feb. 2012: NewsBank. Web. 19 Mar. 2013.

This article discussed how in Savannah-Chatham public schools system in Georgia they changed the teacher dress code. The new dress code states that teachers who have tattoos have to have the tattoos covered and have to remove any distracting piercings. But Alfreda Goldwire, president, from the Chatham Association of Educators tried to warn them that tattoos and piercings are becoming more popular in todays society. I feel like this would be good in my paper because of the fact that people are starting to realize that tattoos are becoming more common and people shouldnt be judged or not hired by what is inked on their skin.

Jewett, Thomas. "Rules & Reasons Of Tattoos & Piercings." New Teacher Advocate 14.1 (2006): 4. Education Research Complete. Web. 25 Mar. 2013.

This article talked about the rules and the reason of tattoos and piercings on teachers. It talked about how principals are technically allowed to tell you to cover your tattoos and tell you what you can and cannot wear. I feel like this would be very helpful to my paper because of the fact that it discusses that the kids or students in todays society might have a hard time finding a job because of their appearance and the dress code that they have.

Leonard, David J. "The Inked Academic Body." Chronicle Of Higher Education (2012): B2. Education Research Complete. Web. 19 Mar. 2013.

A professor who had tattoos wrote this article. He talked about how tattoos shouldnt be considered a bad or unprofessional thing. He talks about how tattoos are like their own lesson. The let people be themselves and show different things about themselves. It let people be individual. I feel like I could use this article to show it from a person who has tattoos point of view. He basically said that getting tattoos is a choice that oneself makes. People shouldnt be told what they should and should not do. Basically, its ones own body not someone elses.

Wiseman, David B. "Perceptions Of A Tattooed College Instructor." Psychological Reports 106.3 (2010): 845-850. Education Research Complete. Web. 25 Mar. 2013.

In this article, it discussed a study where 128 undergraduates perception of tattoos on teachers or college professors. These students were shown four photographs of a tattooed and a nontattooed female teacher models. The outcome of the research was that the females with the tattoos had a positive change in the ratings. This article will be very helpful for my research because it lets me know that the students have a more positive attitude towards teachers who arent so pin neat.
