The legendary Birbal once fell out of favour with Emperor Akbar who demanded that Birbal be hanged

to death. Poor Birbal tried to get a pardon in many ways but his efforts bore no fruit. So Birbal called a friend and said Go to the Badshah and make a proposal. Tell him if I train hisfavourite horse to fly in twelve months, he should pardon me for my fault. The friend said, May be the Baadshah will accept your challenge, but how can you make such a ridiculous demand? Birbal said, What do I lose? In the next twelve months, the horse may die-I get another horse and another twelve months. Or perhaps in the next twelve months the horse may actually learn to fly! The Baadshah may also crown his successor in which case I might get a pardon from him in the future! There is always a chance! Kudos to Birbals wit and presence of mind. But the same funda when applied in training programs, fails to work! Many training programs are undertaken in the pious hope that there is always a chance that the participants may learn something!! But nothing could be further from the truth. Training today is not just about delivering the subject matter. It is a science and art that requires immense input in your training design and delivery in order to cater to the requirements of an individual holistically. As a successful facilitator, you need to:

1. 2. 3. 4.

Understand and incorporate the whole brain learning approach in your Training Understand the various techniques of experiential learning in training Design and deliver training content to cater to different personality styles Design and deliver games and activities to draw out the learning relevant to your program objective 5. Develop training that ensures and maximises the Return On Investment 6. Address behavioural modification from within through helping your participants unlearn their Mindsets, Attitudes and Habits
