Background
Our genetic mix of our parents, each of which
contributed half in our genetic. May we come
from different regions of the planet
DNA mitochondria is
unaffected by other
genetic exchanges.
Mitochondria have own
DNA separate with
others DNA.
Aim
To trace back who is the real ancestor of
human being.
Definition
Mitochondria are the powerhouse of the cell
which contain mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA),
are passed only from mother to offspring.
Mitochondrial Eve is the name given by
researchers to the woman who is defined as
the matrilineal
most recent common ancestor (MRCA) for all
currently living humans.
Why use mitochondrial
The egg (Fertilization) contains
mitochondria that have been
passed from mother to
daughter for countless
generations.
Male sperm contains only
enough mitochondria to power
the sperm to the surface of the
egg – it does not enter the egg.
The structure of sperm
7 daughters of eve (Over the past ten years,
scientist’s research has identified just seven women,
who lived thousands of years ago, from whom almost
everyone in Europe is directly descended through the
maternal line

Katrine : south central Europe

Ursula: Northern Greece
Xenia: Asia, North America
Tara: Northen Europe
Helena: Middle East
Velda: france and britian
Jasmine: Western Asia
Cases
The genetic survey that produced the whole
Mitochondrial Eve scenario didn't just sample
Africans and Europeans – it sampled genes
from people all over the planet. When
mitochondrial DNA was compared, the survey
discovered a startling result. Fundamental
similarities in mitochondrial DNA in living
humans suggested that we all contain genetic
material from a single woman who was living
in Africa around 200,000 years ago.
