1. Read 1 Corinthians 10:1-22


Background: Paul reminds the Corinthians of the sins that the Israelites fell into while they wandered in the
desert – idolatry (10:7), sexual immorality (10:8), testing God (10:9), and grumbling (10:10). These things
happened to the Israelites as an example and as instruction for future generations of God followers. He tells
Corinthians that just because you’re tempted doesn’t mean you have to sin. Temptation is not sin; giving in
to temptation is sin. Paul gives the Corinthians a powerful promise in 1 Cor. 10:13.

2. Look up ‘temptation’ in a dictionary and write out a few of the definitions
