Reflection- Week 3 (2/4-2/8) I had another wonderful week this week. I would be lying if I said it wasnt at all stressful juggling the many responsibilities that goes along with teaching but I can honestly tell you that nothing makes me happier than being with those kids every single day. This week I took over Trophies and Math completely. Because this was my second full week doing Trophies, I feel pretty confident in teaching it but am still trying to find my groove in teaching math. We teach from both Saxin and Everyday Mathematics at my school so we toggle between the two each week. I am still trying to get familiar with the structure of each program and I think once I can get that down and get a routine going, Ill feel much more comfortable! I also had my very first observation/evaluation from my supervisor this week. I was observed while teaching Trophies and was very pleased with my feedback on the lesson. My supervisor says she is very happy with my progress so far and that made me feel really good! We also had the 100th day of school this Thursday where the students got to make a 100 piece trail-mix using their 100 day counting mat. We also did a class activity where the students had to write about what they will do/be like when they are 100 years old and draw a picture of what they will look like at 100. The responses were quite comical- Below is a picture from our fun-filled day!
