Vatican City

Vatican City is the smallest country in the world with the smallest population. It is located inside of Rome, Italy and the currency is in euros. The literacy rate is 100% and from here the Pope ministers to group of more than a billion Roman Catholics. In 1929 the Lateran Treaty between Italy and the Holy See, the papacy or the papal court; which is associated with the Pope in the government of the Vatican, Vatican City became independent. Holy See oversees diplomatic relations with more than 150 countries, it issues passports, coins, and stamps. Vatican city also has its own radio station, the Vaticans radio station is located in a tower inside the Vatican Gardens and broadcasts in 20 languages. Also the Vatican has its own post office and the Vatican mail system is widely used by Romans because of its efficiency, and the citys main languages are Italian, French, and latin. The city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site; the only site to encompass a whole country, the ecnomic industry is production of coins, medals, postage stamps; worldwide banking and financial activities. Italian citizens are allowed to donate 8% of their yearly taxes to the Vatican, instead of paying it to the Italian Government. The Vatican opted to become the first Carbon neutral state by offsetting their carbon footprint with the creation of a forest in Hungary in 2007. The Vatican museums are over 9 miles (14,5 kilometers) long, and if you spent only 1 minute admiring each painting it would take you 4 years to look at each. The Pope is an elected non-hereditary monarch and has complete judicial, executive and legislative control over the Vatican State - which means he is at present the only absolute monarch in Europe. The balcony upon which the newly elected Pope stands is called "Loggia of the Benediction", it is from here that many millions around the world hear the first blessing "Urbi et Orbi" , to the city and the world.
