Cris Vincent G. Alidon LINC INTERNATIONAL MANAGEMENT AND CONSULTING GROUP When: Integrated Risk Based Management Course with Accenture PROPOSED STUDY:

TIME - EVOLUTION OF FRANK BIRD'S LOSS CAUSATION MODEL in light of PROGRESSING, TIME-VARYING RISKS and CIRCUMSTANTIAL FACTORS
progressing risks are risks which have a capacity to evolve, influence, or create new risk parameters within existing risks which are influenced by several factors - psychological/behavioral factors - circumstantial factors - external factors - other factors assumption of frank bird - all losses are caused by incidents, by ic's, bc's and loc's. It has also incorporated measurements on the frequency of each parameter. However, it has not incorporated the time evolution of this model to give it a FULLER PICTURE APPLICATIONS and RATIONALE OF STUDY MORE ACCURATE PICTURE OF RISK PROGRESSION - Since it is evolving through time, the company is now able to see the effects on risk and potential loss associated with infinitesimal changes in the parameters of the factors. This is particularly important in terms of identifying risk severity, control adequacy, and resource - Physical phenomena is full of fluctuations once you increase or make more precise tolerance levels. These fluctuations are due to certain CORPORATE RISK INDEX COMPUTATION and FORECASTING

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

If there is ever a system that calculates for CORPORATE RISK INDEX (another very wonderful idea to study), then the time evolution study could enable that particular system to incorporate PROJECTIONS o It can project corporate risk indices after a certain time-period o It can also identify the previous risk index at a certain point the past o It can there proceed to plot a corporate risk index TIME-EVOLUTION (which again is another interesting study) o this study has both scope and depth that it could potentially qualify as a dissertation in an MBA program.

INCORPORATION OF APPROPRIATE TIME-EVOLVING CONTROLS - and the study of the institution of such controls LOOKING at more COOL graphs like instead of considering RISK INDEX vs. CONTROL INDEX graphs, we can see CORPORATE RISK INDEX vs. TIME graphs which will give a picture of the nature of RISK and level of RISK the company is potentially exposed to over a period of time. Progression of Research 1. Identification of all Relevant Concepts 2. Establishing all relevant relationships between concepts 3. Formulation of Experimental Setup and Design 4. Conduction of Experiment or Study 5. Results Compilation and Assessment 6. Processing and Analysis of Results 7. Formulation of Conclusions and Establishing of New Relations 8. Yeah!

RELATED STUDIES Conduct a research studying the many factors that affect the corporate risk index of a company. Infinitesimal changes on both risks and controls must be looked into. - One of the useful outputs of this research is a comprehensive risk equation which factors in the different risk sub-indices of companies. And the relationships between them. Conduct a research studying on TYPES of RISKS and NATURES of RISKS. Apply appropriate research framework and experimental research design.
