Dear Ms. Hofmann, For me, I feel that this semester is moving along pretty good.

At the beginning of the semester I had already planned that I wasnt going to enjoy an English course in college, but the way and how we work actually surprised me. I didnt think that Id enjoy English because I felt as if I was too good of a writer. Working in small groups has allowed me to see that almost everyone felt the same way about themselves. The topics we write on have given me the opportunity to be more expressive in my writings. That brings out my best work. It could be possible that I write better when dealing with topics that I actually know about. Small groups have also given me a chance to see how others work and how I can make myself better. My biggest goal this semester is to perfect my Literacy Memoir. Why? My Literacy Memoir is the biggest part of my writing portfolio. I feel like every we discussed in class is touched upon in my Literacy Memoir. As I make my memoir better, the reader can understand my life and my goals better. Next to perfecting my literacy memoir, I want make sure what I write is also captivated in as visual aspect also. At this point in my portfolio, I have done that. I feel that I just need to make the pieces I incorporate a little stronger or clearer. Why is my memoir the center of attention? My memoir tells of my experience as it relates to literacy. It explains my journey because every day, whether we realize it or not, we become more literate just in different areas of our lives. Thank you, Jamal Murchison
