Action Plan
Action Plan Toolkit Put together posters that state the classroom rules and procedures. Hang these posters on the walls. Create the Medical and Behavioral Crisis notes. Go over these notes with the students on the first day of class. Outcome: I will have the means of communicating and displaying my classroom rules, procedures, and other classroom information to my students. Teaching the Plan to Students On the first day of school, explain the rules and procedures for my classroom. Show the students the posters around the room and discuss them. Outcome: The students will be aware of the rules, procedures, and possible repercussions of their behavior. Booster Session for Students Every nine weeks, I will review the classroom rules and procedures with the students. Depending on student behavior, I may have to review the rules and procedures more frequently. If needed, I will pass out copies of the rules and procedures to the students.

Outcome: Students will be reminded of the rules and procedures in a neutral to positive setting. They will be informed as a refresher course, not because they are breaking the rules or not following procedures. Recognition Activities for Students Thank students when they turn in their homework on time. When students pay attention in class and work hard, give them praise. Write positive notes on assignments or send notes/emails to parents every so often. Outcome: Students will be motivated to continue their current behavior and will feel appreciated. Teaching the Plan the Parents Create information packets for students to take home to their parents the first day of class. This packet will include a list of the classroom rules, procedures, and descriptions of the negative consequences. This packet will also include a form for the students to return with their parents/guardians signature verifying that they read it. Outcome: Parents will be aware of how the classroom will be run and the ways they will be able to contact me if needed.
