Learning Outcome(s)/Standard(s): Children create individual representations of a spring landscape through stimulus and their own creative interpretation. Indicators: Assessment: Children will display their understandings of the topic through their personal representations of the landscape. Teaching Focus: Background to the learning: A. Teacher The teacher has presented a range of activities and subjects over the last 2 weeks and this lesson is just another in a list of a multi skilled lesson with lots of individual stages to be completed. To work as a roving teacher being able to manage the whole class while helping individual students. Photographic evidence of the childrens work. Children will use a range of materials to create a multilayered piece of work. Children will use a range of skills and materials to create a landscape picture which fits the springtime brief.

The children have had a art class with the pre service teacher but not when we are looking at spring. Its a nice task which requires a range of skills Lesson Resources: Content of Lesson: A. Introduction 5 mins Get the children to gather on the floor for a discussion. Have the children discuss what the characteristics of a spring landscape might be. Discuss what aspects they think are vital to add to their own paintings. B. Development Focus Questions: C. Consolidation and Practice 25 mins Have the children prepare a blue washed piece of paper before the art lesson. The children are then to draw the outline of the tree with pencil. Then colour in the tree with brown What is special about spring? What do we see in a spring scape? What animals do we see? What colours are the trees? How might we make the trees? 5 mins Paint Crayons Blue wash paper Pencils
