AUTOMOBILES The first cars were made in 1769, and are still being produced today. The creation of automobiles has made the world smaller within distance. Before automobiles, it took months and even years to transport goods and supplies. Now, it only takes days or hours to drive nearly anywhere in the world, and transport anything. AUTOMOBILES ARE IMPORTANT BECAUSE THEY CAN MOVE one THING / PERSON FROM ONE PLACE TO ANOTHER, & THEY CAN CARRY MUCH MORE WIEGHT THAN HORSES. THERE ARE SO MANY DIFFERENT CARS MADE. Of these; A majority OF CARS RUN ON GAS, with SOME Running ON ELECTRICITY. A big disadvantage of cars is they all need money to be put in to them. Vehicles get people half way across the world in under a month, walking half way across the world would last a lifetime. Riding in a car can get you where you need to go; you can get there on time, and in good condition. over the years 1834-1948, Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz created the first cars that run on gas. The automobile started out as just a four person holding car that ran on steam. Today cars run on both electricity and gas. Vehicles were expensive in 1800-1900s, but still are expensive today Because of the detail, The luxury, and other material put into the cars. Most automobiles were pricy until henry ford created a technique to produce cars called the assembly line. The new invention has made cars cheaper for people who cant afford very high quality cars. changes have improved the way cars are today. People who couldnt afford the first automobiles walked, rode horses, or rode in carriages pulled by horses. The first cars looked like steam powered factory machines and now they look like impossibly created technology. The first cars only had wheels, frame, gas tank, and a steering wheel. They were as simply as possible, to keep the cost down. Newer brand cars like hybrids are a good source of transportation also. Hybrids use less fuel than a lot of other cars because their engines are so small and give off less pollution. Some hybrids are electricity powered and the car batteries are recyclable. Todays cars have built in telephones, built in navigation, sun roofs, and so many more accessories. The first automobiles were good sources of transportation, but not so great because they have things like the risk of a boiler explosion. The steam engine didnt become so popular because it only lasts so little time. In 1979 ford built the third generation mustang causing the government to make a speed limit of 55 miles per hour. Gas had also gone up to 54 cents a gallon, which was a lot in the 70s. Automobile companies were forced to make cars that were normal and safe. The automobile industry created smaller, cheaper, better fueled cars, the Chrysler companies / creators didnt want their cars the same. Automobile industries didnt make creative and inspiring cars no more; they were trying to avoid federal charges for air pollution and safety. From dangerous, steam powered cars of the 1900s, to todays modern hybrids, the automobile has advanced greatly.
