Procedure: (step by step) *Beginning (How will I introduce activity?) I will introduce the activity after the teachers are done with circle time. I will show them a plant and ask, Do any of you know what this is? If they dont know then I will tell them this is called a plant I will ask, Do any of you have some plants at your house? I will respond I have a lot of plants at my house Then I will ask, Do any of you know what plants need to grow and survive? If they dont know the answer, I will tell them, plants need sunlight, and water

I will have a watering can handy to show them Today we will have materials so we can all plant some seeds together, do you want to plant your own seeds? But we are going to plant these seeds a little different today, instead of using soil and water, we are going to these cotton balls Now I am going to show you how to do this okay, first we are going to put our names on the bags then we will get around 5 cotton balls and then we are going to dip them in the water, put them in this little clear bag and then can you guess what comes next? Next we will place our seeds and seal our little bags and watch them grow for the next few days I will demonstrate how it is done during circle time

*Middle: Once at the table, I will make sure the children have enough materials and space I will ask the children, Have you ever planted a seed in soil before? What about in cotton balls? How long do you think that its going to take before the seeds start to grow? I may also ask Why do you think that we are using clear plastic bags? If they dont know I will tell them, We are using clear bags so that we can all watch as they first start to grow I will also ask, If plants need sunlight, where do you think that we should put our plants If none of them suggest the window I will try to give them hints like where do we get the mooost sunlight in the room?
*End:

I will encourage children to do their clean up before they move on to another activity Before clean up time I will let the children know that it is almost clean up time Its almost clean up time, which means that we will have to put all of our materials away soon During clean up time we will song the clean-up song as a transition During snack time I will ask would you like to tell me about what you planted today? During the next few days I will bring up the topic during snack time asking them how the plants have been growing.
